Bamford Preserve

An easy family hike through mixed woods to the shoreline with beautiful views of Long Cove.  

Trail Description

The trail begins to the left of the trailhead kiosk, descending moderately for a short length before turning sharply to the right, traversing evergreen/deciduous woods and a walkway across wetlands. After crossing a wooden bridge over a small stream, you hike through the remains of an old apple orchard and enter the view shed of Long Cove. The preserve also features a mid to mid-tide water access point. Preserve visitors can carry kayaks down the 0.3-mile trail to launch. Kayakers accessing the water from other facilities such as the Tenants Harbor town landing can use this same spot to visit the preserve.
