Vehicle Registration Renewal
The Town of St. George participates in the Rapid Renewal Program offered through the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Individuals can renew their motor vehicle registration and pay the local excise tax in one simple online transaction. Passenger and commercial vehicles that have been previously registered can be renewed through this service. The following vehicles, however, must be renewed in person: island use, emergency/coach, over 12,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW), apportioned, special mobile equipment, tractors, municipal and state vehicles.

- Insurance card
- Vehicle's current mileage
- Bank account information
- Access to a printer
Payment may be made by Electronic Check.
You should receive your new registration certificate and stickers within 7 business days. If your registration will expire within 7 days, and you are planning to travel out-of-state with your vehicle, you may wish to renew your registration in person at the town office. Re-registrations may also be processed at a motor vehicle branch office, after payment of excise tax has been made at the town office.
