Did you know that "managing invasive pests requires
ongoing work, year after year. And for the Browntail Moth, this time of year is a great time to work on limiting its spread across the state. That’s because it’s easy to spot their winter nests in the higher parts of tree branches."
The St. George Conservation Commission is VERY active. This info on browntail moth came from their most recent newsletter article. To find out more, see the town's website: https://www.stgeorgemaine.com/page/conservation-commission

While many look for tulips in the garden, or listen for the call of the American Woodcock, here at the town office we have our own favorite sign of spring.
Town Roads are now posted for heavy loads. Please contact Town Manager, Brandon Leppanen, with any questions or concerns.

Earlier today we posted we would be opening late on Wednesday (02/26) because of a staff meeting. Our meeting has been rescheduled, and the Town Office will be open our regular 8am-4pm hours tomorrow.

Someone popped into the town office today looking for a Maine boating laws handbook. We don't have any here, but the state has a handy pamphlet/guide available for downloading or printing.

Just a reminder that we're in the 30 day grace period for dog licenses. Dogs should've been licensed before the end of December last year. January is the grace period. Starting Monday Feb. 3 you'll get a $25 late fee from the state (NOT the town--it's not our late fee!). Please get your dog licensed today or tomorrow.

On January 23rd 2025 these six members completed the last of their required class work and instructional hours in order to obtain their basic EMT licenses. Next stop is the National Registry test, and then they will officially be licensed in the state to provide care.
CONGRATULATIONS to each of you! Thank you for your dedication through the long hours and your commitment to not only our department, but to the whole community.
