Chuck Sisson is one of our EMTs. Something he likes to do in his free time is paint. And like many artists, he's frequently not happy with his work. We, on the other hand, LOVE it. The pink shoreland painting hangs in the front office, and MANY people compliment it.

Three guys stopped into the town office: the pastor (Jerry Radley), the gentleman (Mr. Francavilla), and Randy. Sounds like we need a punchline! Truly, these three hung out and chewed the fat for quite some time. A trip to the St. George town office can turn into a visit!

The March newsletter gets picked up from the printer today and will be released on March 1st. If you would like a paper copy of the February newsletter there are a few left at the town office. Or, you can read our digital archive of newsletters on our website. And, if you sign up for town notifications, we'll text or email you when the newsletter gets published.

It's Tuesday. Yes, the dump is open.
Speaking of the transfer station, we're going to start a new section: "Where does this go?" People who have been using the transfer station for years might know the right answers, but new residents may not. Or maybe you could use a refresher. Or maybe something--like this box here--might cause a bit of confusion. Because this box DOESN'T go in the cardboard recycling; it goes in the mixed paper. Frequently transfer station employees are pulling "craftboard" or "pasteboard" (the technical name for this material) out of the cardboard section and moving it to the mixed paper section. So please, corrugated cardboard only* in the cardboard section.
*This isn't 100% true. There's something else that goes in the cardboard recycling section, but we'll cover that in another post.

Special permits may be issued in coordination with the town office. Please reach out to Town Manager (and Road Commissioner) Brandon Leppanen at 372-6363 if you need to obtain one.
We understand that this can pose major inconveniences to work but is critically important to the longevity of the road's surface, saving us significant tax dollars in the long run.

The Maine Forest Service has put out a very helpful post that shows you how to check for these nests and what to do if you find one, just click on the link below. And, if you have any questions, please contact the St George Conservation Commission at stgcc@stgeorgemaine.com
