Resilience Factoids from the St. George Resilience Committee

1) Rates of Lyme disease in St. George is MUCH higher than in Maine as a whole. Be sure to check for ticks every day.
2) Drought and storms are a threat to drinking water. Consider testing your well every couple of years for contamination.
3) More high heat days are predicted. There may be as many as 20-30 by 2050. Have a plan to cool down.

Join the St. George EMS/FD family tomorrow (May 30th) from 5-7pm for a spaghetti supper fundraiser. 100% of the profits from this dinner will be donated to the Fire Foundation, a non-profit specifically created to support those affected by the Robbins Mill fire, with top priority given to firefighter and emergency personnel who selflessly put their communities first.

Just by way of reminder, the St. George town office is closed today in observance of Memorial Day. The transfer station is closed today too--just like it is every Monday.

The town office will be closed until 9:30am today as the staff gathers for our monthly staff meeting. The transfer station WILL be open at 8am, but with a light staff. At 9:30 both locations should be operating as normal.
