Today is the grand opening of the Port Clyde Landing! Join us from 6-8pm in downtown Port Clyde. The band Hoodoo Man starts at 6pm, and features our own Office Clerk A behind his #goldsparkleludwigs. At 6:30 there will be some remarks from Harbor Committee Chair Dan Morris, Select Board Chair Jane Conrad, and Town Manager Brandon Leppanen. Our Harbor Master Ryan Cline won't be speaking, as he'll be too busy piloting the BBQ grill--did we mention there will be hotdogs and hamburgers? There will be a shuttle running from the Drift Inn parking lot to the new landing, so please park there. And, if you find you need to leave before a return shuttle is available, the Town Manager and Assistant Town Manager have said they'll provide rides back to the Drift Inn lot. What a great night to come check out the landing, maybe grab an ice cream or a beverage at a local eatery, and enjoy a nice evening!

Recently Addie McPhail zoomed into the office to register her new 400cc Triumph motorcycle. Office Clerk A, otherwise known as Bill, accepted her payment, and then decided it would be fun if the two of them showed off their wheels together. (Miss McPhail also happens to be dating Bill's eldest son.) Bill's 50cc scooter tops out 38mph. Miss McPhail won't disclose how fast the Triumph will go, but she did admit it's more than 38.

•9am, parade starts
•Immediately after the parade, Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Kinney Melquist Post of the American Legion

May 4 through May 10, 2025 is the 56th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week. Initiated in 1969 the week is a time of celebration and reflection on the importance of the Clerk’s office. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation that officially declared Municipal Clerks Week the first full week of May. In 1994 and 1996, President Bill Clinton also signed proclamations confirming Municipal Clerks Week. Thank you Bill, Magan, Patty, and Tara--we hope you had a great week.
