Compost Bin

It's Tuesday, and yes the transfer station is open.

It's all about compost lately. Did you know that the transfer station sells really nice compost?  We take your food scraps and turn it into black gold!  So far this season, we have sold 75 yards of compost, bringing in $4,680.00 in revenue that helps offset the cost of transporting our trash.

The transfer station would love to have your compostable food waste, and recently the Solid Waste and Recycling Committee took on a small project to improve operation of the compost bin. We added a new sign and made a new access lid to avoid having to move the bin lid to dump your compost.  We also added guidance on what is compostable right inside the lid.  This makes it super easy now to drop off your food scraps.  We have heard some great comments on the new lid already!

Where is the compost bin at the transfer station?  It's conveniently located right where you drop off your trash!
