Ash Bore Beetle

Please join the St. George Conservation Commission and Georges River Land Trust for an ash tree focused woodland walk.  Maine Forest Service Entomologist Michael Parisio will provide information on identifying ash species and talk about ways to deal with the invasive insect Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).

In addition, management strategies for ash forests, and treatment options will be discussed. Participants should leave with knowledge of Maine’s ash species trees, practical tree identification skills, an understanding of Emerald Ash Borer, treatments, and insights into dealing with Emarald Ash Borer in stewarding a healthy a forest.

Please come prepared for a mile hike. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes and bring your insect repellent of choice. Join us for a woodland walk!

Directions & Parking: The Fort Point trailhead and parking is just off  Route 131 at Wiley’s Corner Road.  Please be particularly conscientious when parking.  If the lot is full there will be overflow defined parking across Route 131 at the Andrew Robinsson Homestead.  Please do not stray on to the adjacent private property and do not block access to the spring.
