About Us
St. George EMS provides 24/7 emergency medical services to the Town of St. George and mutual aid to surrounding communities.
Our department is staffed by four full-time Paramedics and a team of dedicated per-diem providers. Together, we deliver compassionate, high-quality care to residents and visitors whenever it’s needed most.
If you’re interested in joining our team or learning more, email Chief Katie Jacob at k.jacob@stgeorgemaine.com.
Community Paramedicine
St. George EMS also operates a licensed Community Paramedicine (CP) program — an innovative model that brings healthcare into the home.
Community Paramedics do not replace existing healthcare providers; instead, they work under a provider’s referral to deliver episodic, goal-oriented care that helps prevent unnecessary 911 calls and hospital visits.
In coordination with a patient’s care team and referring clinician, Community Paramedics can assist with:
Medication compliance and reconciliation
Wound care
Blood draws and lab coordination
Support for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, or asthma
Post-surgical and post-discharge follow-ups
Home safety and prevention assessments
Other services as directed by a primary care provider
All Community Paramedicine visits require a provider’s referral. Download the Referral Form here.
For more information about the program, please view our Community Paramedicine Brochure.
