BIRTH CERTIFICATE INFORMATION FOR ALL PLAYERS NEW TO FARM LEAGUE AND LITTLE LEAGUE IS REQUIRED. T-BALL PARENTS MAY BRING BIRTH CERTIFICATES IF THEY WISH AND THEY WILL BE COPIED AND KEPT ON FILE.
LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CLINICS
ATTENTION ALL BOYS AND GIRLS WHO ARE PLANNING ON PLAYING LITTLE LEAGUE THIS SPRING. THIS INCLUDES ALL PLAYERS, INCLUDING THOSE ALREADY ON TEAMS AND THOSE TRYING OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME:
DURING THE WEEK OF MARCH 23RD, THE FOLLOWING CLINICS WILL BE HELD TO ASSIST PLAYERS IN GETTING READY FOR THE SEASON.

MARCH 27: GIRLS 3:15-4:30
THE FIRST CLINIC WILL FOCUS ON FIELDING AND THE SECOND ON HITTING, WITH THROWING BUILT IN EACH DAY TO HELP THE PLAYERS WORK ON FUNDAMENTALS AND BUILDING UP ARM STRENGTH TO PREVENT INJURIES. THESE ARE VOLUNTARY CLINICS OFFERED BY P&R DIRECTOR BEN VAIL IN CONJUNCTION WITH DRAGONS MANAGER JED MILLER AND LADY DRAGONS MANAGER DAWN GAUTHIER.

We sail Hunter 90s, 420s, and daysailers, and we operate out of Blueberry Cove off of Hart’s Neck Road in Tenants Harbor.
NEXT LUNCHEON: APRIL 14 AT 11:30. IN ADDITION TO OUR POT LUCK OFFERINGS, THERE WILL BE PIZZA FOR LUNCH. AFTER LUNCH, WE WILL HEAR A PERFORMANCE BY THE ST. GEORGE SCHOOL CHORUS. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL ON THE 14TH!
PROGRAM NOTE FOR TENNIS PLAYERS: DUE TO CRACKING IN THE COURT PAINT SURFACE, THE COURT WILL BE REPAINTED AT A TIME TO BE DETERMINED. WHEN THOSE ARRANGEMENTS ARE FINALIZED, THERE WILL BE ANNOUNCEMENTS POSTED HERE REGARDING CLOSING THE COURTS SO THE WORK CAN BE COMPLETED.

Parks & Recreation Committee Information

The Parks & Recreation Committee shall oversee all resources,
facilities & programs of a recreational nature, strive to maintain
and improve the physical and mental fitness of the community, and
administer, in cooperation with the Town Manager, the recreational
programs to include all segments of the community on a year round basis.
Past P & R Committee responsibilities have included, but have not been limited to:
Monthly committee meetings with the P & R Director for updates & idea sharing.
Participate in department sponsored events as much a possible (IE; Saturday basketball games, events, fund raisers, etc.)
Assist in event set-up, operations, clean-up & fund raising whenever possible.
Help promote and advertise the department’s events & offerings
Follow the department’s “Mission Statement”, “Core Values” & “Vision Statement”
Respect and adhere to the department’s policies and guidelines.
Promote good sportsmanship, fair play & leadership by example
Assist in recruiting volunteer coaches, umpires, referees, and other helpers
The Parks & Rec. Committee consists of seven voting members and
two or more alternate members that are appointed annually by the Select
The Parks & Rec. Director attends the monthly P & R Committee
meetings to update members on activities and to coordinate efforts to
further the goals of the Committee.
Volunteer applications for the P & R Committee and all
coaching positions are available for printing in the column to the right
St. George Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for scheduling, prepping and maintaining multiple fields, courts, parks and playgrounds for the many spring, summer & fall youth sports activities, teams & leagues.
The P & R department also organizes, oversees & maintains local winter youth basketball teams and leagues from 3rd-6th grade. We host the traditional "Mussel Ridge Hoops Basketball Tournament" for 3rd/4th graders in March as well as offer free basketball & soccer clinics for children in kindergarten, first and second grade.
In addition, the department organizes, oversees and sponsors programs for adults and local senior citizens.
The Parks & Recreation Department's offerings for "St. George Days" include the Marshall Point 5K Lighthouse Loop, The Old Timers Softball Game and Father-Son, Mother Daughter Games.
