Solar Thursdays: New Options are Here!

Event Date:
Thursday, October 1, 2020 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

October 1st at 6:30 pm
The event we announced last month has changed to a virtual webinar format using Zoom. The October 3rd solar tour is cancelled.

Don’t wait, now is the time to go solar. The St. George Conservation Commission is presenting public informational programs on residential options for Solar Energy via Zoom.  “Solar Thursdays” educational sessions will be offered periodically to introduce the community to alternatives available to reduce their “carbon footprint” using solar energy and save money. Speakers will address the latest advances in solar energy and solar energy options.  State/local energy goals and relevant legislation will also be presented.

This event is cosponsored by the St. George Community Development Corporation.

The first “Solar Thursdays”: New Options are Here! will consist of two  presentations followed by a questions and answer period.

Kendra Jo Grindle, Community Development Officer, Island Institute, will present an overview of solar energy, benefits of solar, and the latest options for home and community solar installed on and off your property.  Seth Berry, State Representative District 67: Chair of the Legislatures Joint Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities and Technology, will present relevant past/current/and future Maine legislation and regulations, state/town goals, and visioning including the future of distributive power generation in Maine.  Ann Matlack, Representative in our State District 92, will join Kendra Jo Grindle and Seth Berry to answer audience questions.
