Clark Island Preserve

Clark Foundation Clark PicnicClark Quarry

Clark Island Preserve is owned and managed by Maine Coast Heritage Trust.

Highlights

Just a short walk over the causeway from the Craignair Inn, Clark Island welcomes visitors to picnic, hike, swim and take in spectacular views from its sandy and rocky shoreline.  Clark Island was an active stone quarry in the 1800s and had 100 stonecutters and their families living on the island.  You can still see remnants of old stone foundations in the fields and woods around the island.
